Modular Course Content

While we recommend that you undertake all modules of MedPrep’s Virtual Live GAMSAT Course to ensure comprehensive preparation, you may purchase Humanities & Social Science Reasoning, Biological & Physical Sciences Reasoning, Written Communication, and Testbank modules individually or in any combination. If you are definitively strong in some subject areas and weak in others, then the modular approach maybe appropriate for you. The four individual modules featured are the:

Testbank Module

Two Full-Length online Prognostic Simulated GAMSAT Exams are available to predict how you will perform on GAMSAT itself, thus providing a gauge of your exam-readiness and directing study.

Biological & Physical Sciences Reasoning Module

The online instructor will present the relevant GAMSAT sciences material in conceptual, graphical and equation -orientated formats. MedPrep uses simulated GAMSAT questions and passages to illustrate the concepts being covered in each lesson, and to test students on topics covered in previous lessons. Because a growing number of arts students are sitting the GAMSAT, we have constructed our course and each individual online science session to begin with basic concepts and then move on to more elaborate topics. Remember that GAMSAT is designed to evaluate your intellectual potential (how quickly you build "thought-bridges" between simple ideas disguised within a complex context, and how confidently you formulate hypotheses and offer solutions), not your ability to regurgitate scientific facts. To this extent, then, undergraduate science degrees provide students with only a marginal advantage on the GAMSAT.

In addition, MedPrep’s science course materials are not like the unwieldy and arcane textbooks that you have likely struggled with during your tertiary studies. Instead, MedPrep has created a brand new set of comprehensive, concise, and conceptually clear online science notes tailored specifically to address the learning realities of independent study and distance education. Each captivating science lesson points out the “must know” concepts, symbolic representations, and equations found in GAMSAT-level science and is followed by a set of Quick Questions to test comprehension and ingrain new knowledge. MedPrep’s 450 pages worth of Science notes feature modules in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biology. MedPrep trains you to think the GAMSAT way.

Written Communication Module

The online instructor will demonstrate that this section of the GAMSAT, surprisingly, is almost formulaic. If you know the formula—what is being assessed and how—it is virtually impossible not to succeed on the essays. Without the formula, however, students often write genuinely coherent and insightful essays by a different standard, only to fail this section of the GAMSAT.

After demystifying the criteria of assessment for both the argumentative and discursive types of GAMSAT essay questions, MedPrep’s 60 pages worth of Written Communication online course materials go on to advance an astute essay-writing methodology that has produced exceptional results for generations of MedPrep students. MedPrep’s method involves quotation deconstruction and analysis, concept origination, idea integration, and the adoption of topic-independent stable essay architecture. This method, however, must be perfected through practice. Hence, in addition to the essay you write while taking the online Diagnostic Simulated GAMSAT Exam, you will write thirteen additional GAMSAT essays. Four of these are to be submitted to MedPrep online for professional analysis and critique while nine will be self-evaluated by comparison against corresponding model responses included in the online course materials. Our goal is not only to improve your basic writing skills, but also to teach you the key components and strategies for a great Written Communication mark. MedPrep trains you to write the GAMSAT way.

Humanities & Social Sciences Reasoning Module

The online instructor will demonstrate that ordinary passive reading is not effective on the GAMSAT, and will provide strategies to improve comprehension and manage time. Through practice, both during the lesson and following, with hundreds of online simulated GAMSAT questions corresponding to passages of personal, imaginative, expository and argumentative writing, new skills are conditioned involving passage annotation, assessment of logical argumentative structure, subjective vs objective thinking, and question analysis. Because so many of the students and working professionals who take the GAMSAT come from science backgrounds, MedPrep is committed to offering students the reading skills that are imperative for a strong GAMSAT performance.

MedPrep’s 120 pages worth of online course materials addresses the Social Sciences and Humanities separately. GAMSAT Social Science material appears in various formats, including pictorial, graphical, and tabular representations of data. Common modes of data representation are reviewed in the online course materials followed by essential GAMSAT-style questions that stress data analysis, extrapolation, and hypothesis construction. MedPrep trains you to read the GAMSAT way.
